In-Home Care and Daily Personal Activities in Perth

Home is where most of life happens. Our in-home care services help you, or the person you care for, continue living safely at home with as much independence as possible.

Our support workers assist with daily personal activities that may have become difficult to manage independently, from showering and dressing to meal preparation and medication support. We work at your pace, respect your daily routine and explain everything before providing support.

What Does NDIS In-Home Care Include?

Under the NDIS, this support is generally referred to as Assistance with Daily Life, including assistance with self-care activities and daily personal activities. In simple terms, this may include:

  • Personal Care: Assistance with showering, dressing, grooming and oral hygiene while respecting your dignity, privacy and preferences.
  • Toileting and Continence Support: Discreet and respectful assistance whenever you need it.
  • Medication Support: Reminders and assistance with medication in accordance with your medication management plan and applicable procedures.
  • Meal Preparation and Mealtime Assistance: Help with planning and preparing meals, as well as assistance with eating and drinking when required.
  • Mobility Assistance: Support to move safely around your home, get in and out of bed, and complete transfers according to your individual needs and support plan.
  • Household Tasks: Assistance with everyday household tasks, such as laundry, changing bed linen, cleaning the kitchen, bathroom and toilet, general house cleaning, and vacuuming and mopping floors.
  • Shopping and Appointments: Assistance with attending appointments, shopping and participating in activities outside your home. See our Community Access and Travel and Transport services.

If you have complex support needs, such as enteral feeding, catheter care or complex bowel care, our High Intensity Daily Personal Activities service may be able to assist, depending on your needs.

If you require nursing care or additional clinical support, including medication management, our community nursing services may be able to assist. We can also discuss your personal care and behavioural support requirements to help identify suitable services.

Who Can Benefit from In-Home Care?

Our in-home care services are designed for NDIS participants who:

  • Want to continue living in their own home or with their family.
  • Need assistance with some or most daily living activities.
  • Prefer a consistent team of support workers rather than meeting new faces at every visit.
  • Want to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

Support can be arranged for a few hours a day or for more extensive periods, including around-the-clock support, depending on your needs, funding and agreed support arrangements. Morning, afternoon, evening, night and weekend support is available.

Support Tailored to You

Before your support begins, we meet with you and, where appropriate, the people who matter to you to discuss your support needs, preferences and goals. We take the time to understand your daily routine, what you would like to do independently and where you need assistance.

Together, we develop an individualised support plan that reflects your needs, preferences and goals. Your support arrangements can be reviewed and updated as your needs change.

We aim to provide a consistent team of support workers so you can build familiar, trusting relationships with the people supporting you. Where possible, we also consider your language, culture, beliefs and personal preferences when matching support workers.

Our trained support workers provide respectful, professional and compassionate care, with your comfort and wellbeing at the centre of everything we do. Wherever appropriate, we encourage skill development and independence, helping you build confidence and maintain control over your daily life.

Our Support Workers’ Training and Qualifications

We are committed to providing safe, reliable and professional support. Our support workers hold the relevant checks, qualifications and training required for their roles, which may include:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Current First Aid certification and CPR training.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate.
  • Training in medication support and infection prevention and control.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate III in Disability or Certificate IV in Individual Support, as applicable to their role and responsibilities.

Additional training and competencies are provided where required to meet participants’ individual support needs.
